🗣 Been in Sri Lanka for over a year now and it’s been such a phenomenal experience thus far. Learning more about my Lankan culture and dwelling further into the fitness industry here. Being a coach in one of the fastest growing industries where there is constant change and new methodologies and research, can make health and fitness feel like a wild and confusing field. Therefore It’s paramount we spend our time and money on our personal development. As coaches we are not mean to know everything out there, and it’s crucial to get the right education, advice and even find yourself a mentor that can get you up the ladder faster with the right tools. You shouldn’t feel bad about not knowing things, you are bound hit barrier and challenges through your journey as a coach. Being humble enough to admit not knowing everything is the best thing a coach can do to help their development and thereby going out there and finding the right answers. Fundamentally we are dealing with other human beings and their health in our profession, therefore second guessing or being a copy cat is not going to help you develop as a coach. One thing I have always said is “be you own guinea pig”, learn to practise what you learn and apply it to yourself to truly feel the outcome and objective, before applying to others. In Sri Lanka we are entering another lockdown, so use this time wisely. Learn more, practise even more and remember to always stay humble.

4 simple habits to include today for a healthier holistic lifestyle: 💧🥗🤸♀️😴 Overtime. little things. tiny habits. each day. Build up brick by brick and contribute to your house of wholeness 🏠 Instant results don’t exist 🚫 The 4 pillars, are the foundations of wellness. Work on each of these aspects of health, and your wellness will improve. I have come to find them as : ~ hydration 💧 ~ nourishment 🥗 ~ mindful movement 🏌️♀️ ~ restful sleep 💤 Adding a tiny habit to build each of these pillars up is vital to feeling better in our bodies 💯 4 new tiny habits to include starting right now today: 1️⃣ ~ start each morning with warm lemon water and a piiiinch of sea salt 🍋🧂 sea salt contains sodium (groundbreaking I know ), here’s the cool part, it is an electrolyte!! It helps hydrate us faster than water on its own by sodium allowing h20 to enter our cells faster ⚡️ Lemon provides vitamin C, an antioxidant that helps counteract the effects of oxidative stress 🙌 2️⃣ ~ try to half your plate with veggies 🍽🥒 vegetables on top of providing many many nutrients, enzymes, also contain lots of water and fibre. This combo helps signal our hunger cues to better tell us when we are full to reduce overeating which will help digestion and absorption of nutrients 🥦🙌 3️⃣ ~ try to start your day by stretching first thing when you get out of bed 🧘♀️ even 5 minutes of this practise can stimulate better circulation, and improve flexibility over time 🤸♀️ 4️⃣ ~ sleep in complete darkness even just a little bit of light can disturb our sleep. I suggest putting a tiny peace of electrical tape over even little lights. for example, a computer light, smoke alarm, TV 📺 bonus points for putting your phone on do not disturb and extra extra points taking all elections out of the room you sleep in 😴 What is one habit you do daily, to build up your house of health?! 🏠☺️
I’ve been waiting to announce this for a bit now, but I’m starting my own business! It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time now. I wanted it to be something that I do on a regular basis even with my busy schedule and that could also help others. I’m pretty excited about this because it’s something that’s I’ve been putting off out of fear.....which is just silly. . What am I doing? . My business is called 4M Training and Wellness. It’s centered around a having healthy and holistic balance with your personal health and well-being. The 4M represents ; Mind, Meals, Movement, and Motivation. It’s a place where I’ll share and help others stay positive, focused, and continue moving forward to achieve their goals in their wellness journey. .
